Drogheda Senior Citizens Group hosted an Open Day last Friday in the Westcourt Hotel.  County Council candidate James Carroll attended and was delighted to see the energy and buzz in the room.  “There was a great turnout throughout the day and it just shows what is possible when energy, hard work and then, some co-ordination comes to harness it all together”.

Some of the many stands throughout the day were TASK alarms, Louth Leader Partnership, MABS, the Gardaí, the Fire Services, Mental Health Ireland and Drogheda Care and Repair who have a list of handy person services to undertake minor household repairs in the homes of older people.

“It was inspiring to see the wide variety of courses, options and services available to the senior citizens in Drogheda.  From Skype training to personal alarms to improving security measures at home are some of the practical advice sources that were available on the day,” James Carroll added.
